  1. Press "File" in the VideoLab window. A pull-down menu will appear with the choices.
  •     Compress AVI
  •     Play Compressed File
  •     Play AVI
  •     Upload to Web
  •     Web page template
  1. If you press "Play AVI", a window with the AVI Video Player will appear. There are three choices: "Play", "Stop" and "Clean Screen". If you press "Play", a small window will be superimposed to allow you to select a desired AVI file in the directory where it is part of. Press "Open" and the desired video will start playing. For full screen, just double click the left button of the mouse. You can go back to the AVI Video Player screen by right-clicking on the full screen video and selecting "Exit Fullscreen". If you press "Stop", the video will stop playing. If you press "Clear Screen", you will go back to the VideoLab window.
  2. If you press "Compress AVI", you follow the procedure above to select a desired AVI file. Then you press "Open" and another small window will appear with your directory structure, so that you can select where the compressed file will be stored with the same name as the AVI file but with the extension ".dat". Press "OK" and the compression will start. This should take no more than the normal duration of the AVI file playback.

When the video compression is completed, a message will appear indicating it. Press "OK" and the VideoLab Player window will appear to give you the choice to see the result of the compression and its decompression and playback or to go on to something else. If you choose the latter, just press "Cancel". If you want to see the result, just go to the directory where you indicated you wanted to save the compressed file with the extension ".dat". Check the file size if you wish. Select it and press "Open". The decompressed file will start playing in the VideoLab Player window.

  3. If you press "Play Compressed File", a small window will appear so that you can navigate your directory structure to find the desired file with the ".dat" extension. Select the file and press "Open". The VideoLab Player window will appear and the desired video will start to play immediately while being decompressed in real time. You can select the size of the frames, small, standard, large, depending on the computing power of your computer.

You can stop playing at any desired frame by pressing "Stop". By pressing "Next", you can advance frame by frame. If you press "Continue", the video will continue playing from where you stopped. If you want to process a desired frame, press "Edit Frame" and a FrameLab window will be superimposed with the desired frame. Select an area of interest with the mouse and then press "Image" and "New From Selection" in the submenu that appears. Press "Image" again and then "Expand" followed by the desired expansion factor. The last step in processing a desired frame is "Enhance". Press it and the final resulting processed frame can be printed and/or saved to a directory in your computer. Finally, press "Clean Up" from the "Image" submenu and then "Yes", to prevent all the intermediate files that have been created from clogging  your system.

Close the FrameLab window to get back to the VideoLab Player window. You can press "Continue" to continue playing the video from where you stopped.

You can play another compressed file by pressing "Play Files" and selecting another file using the small window that appears to navigate your directory.

Finally, press "Stop" and then "Clear Screen" and close the VideoLab window.

  4. If you press "Upload to Web", the Video Upload window will appear. There are three buttons: "Browse", "Upload" and "Refresh".

"Browse" is used to locate the compressed file you want to upload to your Website.

"Upload" is used to publish the video to the Website.

"Refresh" is used to verify that the corresponding changes to your Website have been made.

On the left side of this window, you must enter information about your Website where you want to upload your video. This includes Website address, username and password.  On the right side, press "Browse" to select a local directory and then press "OK". Then select a file from the list displayed on the right side of the window and then press "Connect" on the upper left side to FTP the selected file to your Website. After a while, a list of files on the Website will appear on the left side of the window including the file just sent.

Those files can be seen by anybody in the world by simply accessing your Website and clicking on the desired video file. The ADC2 Video Player will be automatically downloaded in order for interested persons to decompress and view your video files. All your videos created with VideoLab are automatically content protected so that they can be viewed only by authorized persons.

In order for this process to work you must upload an HTML template to your Website. An example of such a template can be seen by clicking on Web Page Template in the ADC2 VideoLab window as part of the file menu and follow the instructions.

In order to access the code, right click on the white part of the displayed window and press "View Source". The template code will appear and you can change it by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and modifying the given example URLs and/or add new ones to link to your videos in your Website.

If you have any problem with the above process to upload your own videos to your Websites, please contact us at ADC2VideoLab@ADC2VideoLab.net
